What does the largest slave revolt in North America in 1811 have
in common with plantation tours two hundred years later? Find out at the fourth
reading of my new play, ALONG THE RIVER ROAD, scheduled for Monday, Feb.
2, 7:30 pm at the Woods Hole Theater. (Assuming the snow stops!) I've
done some major revisions and the actors and director have been generous with
their time to rehearse the changes. Many thanks to Sallie Tighe, Don Collins,
Fred Biddle, June Douglas-White, and Kat Connelly for their acting talents;
Margaret Van Sant for taking over as director; and Dian Hamilton for joining us
to read stage directions. We'd love to have you join us as audience and
give your feedback. The Four Squared Theater Collaborative Project, with
generous funding from the Kaplan Foundation, has made this new play development
possible, and I am most grateful. Please see http://www.woodsholetheater.org/directions.html for
directions to the theater.
FEB. 2 READING CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER. HOPE TO RESCHEDULE SOON!
